Veteran entertainer Bette Midler has heaped praise on her husband Martin Von Haselberg, hailing him as the "glue" that keeps their 24-year marriage together.
The singer/actress wed the theatrical actor, one half her former opening act The Kipper Kids, in Las Vegas in December 1984 and they welcomed a daughter, Sophie, in 1986.
The couple will celebrate its 25th wedding anniversary this year (09) and Midler insists it's von Haselberg who deserves all the credit for keeping their love alive.
She says, "This year's our 25th (anniversary). I actually have to say my husband is the glue that keeps our marriage and this home together.
"When we had her (Sophie), I was in the middle of this big movie career so I was gone on location and he totally picked up all the slack. And there was not one day that he did not have dinner there on the table for her. He was always there. He made sure. It really is adorable to see them together."
