Beyoncé enjoys being rebellious.

The 'Pretty Hurts' hitmaker, whose self-titled new album topped the US charts and sold over 500,000 copies in its first week of release despite no prior promotion, thinks it is more fun to be spontaneous and was even willing to break certain laws for her art.

Speaking in her third informational YouTube video titled 'Part 3 Run 'N Gun,' explaining some of her new music, the 32-year-old star revealed that she tried to film the music video for 'XO,' directed by Terry Richardson, without a permit on Coney Island, New York, in August.

She explained: ''If it was my choice, I would never have a permit. I would just get in the car, get a camera, and we'd just shoot, and trust me, we tried.''

She added: ''I'm trying to rebel against perfection. It's fun because you never know what's going to happen.''

Beyoncé also opened up about partying in the studio when she recorded her latest duet, 'Drunk in Love,' with her rapper husband Jay Z, with whom she has a daughter, Blue Ivy, who turns two on January 7.

She said: ''Jay went in and he started flowing out his verse. We just kinda had a party. It wasn't about any ego, we weren't trying to make a hit record. We were just having fun, and I think you can hear that in the record.''
