State health officials in New York have formally dismissed claims that patients at Lenox Hill hospital were mistreated as a result of the increased security during the birth of Beyonce and Jay Z's baby, Blue Ivy Carter. R&B music's infamous couple reportedly took over an entire floor of the hospital, as well as employing security guards who apparently blocked other parents from entering the neonatal unit, at a cost of $1 million. The hospital, however, have denied the claims and have stated the couple paid the standard rate for an executive suite.
One patient at the hospital, according to The Telegraph, told reporters that the hospital's security cameras were taped over and internal windows were blacked out. However, the hospital, who is also conducting its own enquiry said that they have spoken to 7 of the 10 parents who were in the hospital at the time and that none of them reported that they were prevented from seeing their children.
Jay Z's inimitable way of announcing the news of his daughter's birth by posting a track called 'Glory', on his online blog 'Life and Times'. The song contains the lyric "baby, I paint the sky blue / my greatest creation is you" and also refers to Beyonce's previous miscarriage. Stars such as Rihanna and Gwyneth Paltrow have congratulated the couple on the birth of Blue Ivy, via their Twitter pages.
