Beyonce became the first female singer ever to headline the main stage at Britain's iconic Glastonbury festival on Sunday night (26Jun11), and she thanked fans for making her "dream" come true.
The star only recently discovered her performance marks a new milestone for the event, which is believed to be the biggest rock festival in the world.
In 2008, her husband Jay Z became the first hip-hop star to headline Glastonbury - and Beyonce was clearly delighted as she joined him in setting a new record.
After taking to the stage and opening her set with Crazy in Love, she told the crowd, "I wanted you all to know, right now you are witnessing my dream. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me and my band here.
"I always wanted to be a rock star, and tonight we are all rock stars... I still can't believe I'm performing at Glastonbury."
Beyonce had earlier revealed her shock at the news of her landmark performance, telling the Bbc, "I am the first woman to ever headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. Unbelievable. I didn't even know that. I was just told that two days ago... (I) never, ever thought I would be able to headline Glastonbury... I'm so honoured that I am the chosen woman and I promise, ladies, I'm going to rock!"
