Veteran actor Bill Murray understands why journalists have a tough time interviewing him, because he hates discussing his private life.

The GHOSTBUSTERS star is happy to answer questions about the movies he has starred in, but objects when reporters quiz him about his wardrobe and "exercise regime".

Murray is currently attracting wide critical acclaim for his upcoming movie Lost In Translation, and is much more interested talking about that than his home life.

Bill, 53, says, "I don't have a problem talking about my work, but I don't make a habit of talking about myself.

"There are people who are obsessed with information about my life, what clothes I'm wearing and what my exercise regime is. I'm not interested in that.

"But I'll always talk about my work and Lost In Translation is really, really great."
