Rocker Billy Corgan failed to keep his last group Zwan together because he couldn't move on from the success he shared with the Smashing Pumpkins.

Corgan formed Smashing Pumpkins in 1988 and the band went from strength to strength until finally splitting in 2000.

After the Pumpkins split, Corgan formed Zwan, but only managed one album before inter-group tension lead to the band's separation in September 2003.

He says, "Well, it basically turned into the same nightmare (as the Smashing Pumpkins) but worse.

"Actually, the splitting up was fine because by the end of it I didn't give a s**t. Them not giving a s**t made me not give a s**t. The pain of ending something is equal to how much you care - and at the end of it my heart was still in the Pumpkins. I was naive and I did my best."
