Country singer BILLY CURRINGTON has been sued by the man who brought criminal charges against him last year (13), accusing the star of libel.

Last April (13), the Perfect Day singer was embroiled in an alleged altercation with a 70-year-old tour boat captain in Georgia, and accused of making terrorist-like threats, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

After surrendering to local police and posting bail, he avoided jail time by striking a no contest plea deal with prosecutors and was placed on five years probation and ordered to attend anger management classes.

But now the captain, Charles Harvey Ferrelle, has decided to sue Currington, accusing him of mocking and libelling him on a fan website two days before his plea.

In legal documents, obtained by local newspaper The Savannah Morning News, Currington is accused of writing that Ferrelle "ran like a scared rabbit" and hallucinated during the altercation.

A representative for Currington has yet to comment on the matter.
