Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne is convinced the British music industry's only hope of longevity lies with pop star Robbie Williams.

The PARANOID hitmaker, who was honoured in the second annual UK Music Hall Of Fame earlier this week (16NOV05), is worried about the state of the British music scene, especially since the rise of the internet.

But the 56-year-old hellraiser lavished praise on Williams - who shot to solo fame after leaving boyband Take That in 1995.

Osbourne says, "Downloading has ruined things. Who are going to be the legends of the future? Robbie Williams is the only good one left.

"I don't think there is enough melody in songs now. I like hip-hop and rap, but where's the melody?"
