Rockers Blondie are eyeing a new direction for their music - they want to write a hit dance track inspired by electro group LMFAO.
The Heart of Glass hitmakers are set to release Panic of the Girls, their first album in eight years, in September (11).
But frontwoman Debbie Harry reveals she's already making plans for a new song and music video inspired by Lmfao's Party Rock Anthem.
She says, "One of the things I would like to do before I'm too old to do it - which could be very soon - is a video where I do a lot of dancing like Lmfao. That is my great ambition... I'm deeply involved with being current, and that's the most important thing to me right now."
Guitarist Chris Stein adds, "That video is one of the best dance videos I've ever seen. Their dancing is so tight."
Blondie's last album, Curse of the Blondie, was released in 2003. The band announced plans to split in 2006 but then called them off.
