Blondie star Debbie Harry has given her seal of approval to One Direction's cover of One Way Or Another, insisting the pop stars "did a good job".

The boyband re-recorded Blondie's classic hit as a medley with The Undertones' Teenage Kicks and released it as a single in aid of Britain's Comic Relief charity.

The song hit the number one spot in the U.K. singles chart earlier this year (13) and raised thousands of dollars for good causes, and it has now scored a winning review from the Blondie frontwoman.

She tells the Daily Star newspaper, "I was pleased by One Direction's version - I thought they did a good job. Making a mash-up of our song by putting it together with The Undertones' track was entirely appropriate. One Direction's take had a similar spirit to our early cover versions. They seem good kids."
