Former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon insists a reunion with the band would be pointless, as his solo material is "better than Blur." The COFFEE AND TV star's comments could refuel the row between himself and Blur frontman Damon Albarn since he split from the band in 2002. He says, "When I was writing I would ask myself, 'Is this as catchy as a Blur song? Or does it sound too much like a Blur song?' "So yes I do compare and I think a lot of my songs are better than Blur."

See, this is everything that's wrong with journalism. Sensationalism. You miss out the part where he acknowledges how much better a frontman Damon is than him. It wasn't a critical piece. It was a (commonly perceived as being) shy man finally having the strength to talk positively about the strength of his later songs and songwriting skills in general as opposed to the less "commercial" structure of his earlier work. And now it's blowing up all over cyberspace. Talk about intentionally causing friction where none existed.
