Reggae legend Bob Marley's 60th birthday is to be celebrated in Ethiopia in February (05) with a month-long run of special shows.

The late great superstar's children and his former backing singers the I-THREE will team up with Harry Belafonte, Quincy Jones and YOUSSOU N'DOUR (corr) among others for the AFRICA UNITE concerts.

The big event, featuring all the acts taking part in the concerts, will be held in Addis Ababa's Mascoll Square, on what would have been Marley's 60th birthday, 11 May (05).

Proceeds from the concerts will go to charities Unicef, the WORLD BANK and the AFRICA UNION.

UNICEF will fly children from different African countries to be part of a parade uniting areas of conflict.
