Bob Marley's former bassist ASTON BARRETT has launched a bid to recover a guitar he claims the legendary rocker gave him as a gift.
Barrett - a founding member of Bob Marley and the Wailers - alleges the reggae star handed him the instrument in 1979, two years before he died.
He claims he gave the Yamaha SG-1000 to Angus Reid for safekeeping in 2000 - and was stunned to discover Reid had put it up for auction at London sale house Christie's.
Barrett - nicknamed Familyman because he has fathered as many as 52 children - is asking for the guitar back and $50,000 (GBP33,000) in compensation.
