Former Stray Cats star Lee Rocker is still amazed by the group's one-time support act U2's success - because he was convinced Bono and his bandmates would never make it big.
The Irish rockers opened for the Stray Cats in the early 1980s and the bassist admits he was convinced they were too political to make it in the music business.
Rocker tells WENN, "They were the opening act on a couple of shows and I didn't see that one coming. I never thought they'd ever really make it.
"I think there's a place for U2 but, for me, personally, I'm not a giant fan of political rock. That's just not my bag. I didn't love them."
