Eighties pop icon Boy George infuriated his mother by turning down an OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE (OBE) from British monarch Queen ELIZABETH II last year (04).

The former CLUB CULTURE singer and DJ has exposed the reasons behind his rejection of the prestigious invitation in his new autobiography STRAIGHT, but he openly confesses his mother DINAH O'DOWD was horrified at his decision.

He says, "My mother was furious and said, 'You could have gone to Buckingham Palace! You're so spiteful. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have been born.'

"I told her, 'Too bad you didn't give birth to Cliff Richard then.'"
