Eighties pop star Boy George is urging gay celebrities across the world to take a stand against a new law in Russia which bans the "promotion of homosexuality".
Four regions in the country can now impose fines for "gay propaganda" aimed at minors, and two activists were arrested this month (Apr12) for protesting about the bill.
The Culture Club star is outraged by the new law, and he has called on his gay peers to speak out against the legislation.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "We need every gay star on the planet and every famous actor to make a stand about Russia's new anti gay legislation! We need major noise now."
