A French mayor has rubbished reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are due to marry in their 17th century chateaux in south-eastern France. Celebrity publications became rife with rumors of the nuptials last week, and the mayor singled out Hello magazine for causing him particular stress.
Michael Latz, mayor of the village of Correns (where the couple have their chateaux) told Reuters, "I don't know who they are. It's nonsense. I've had 50 phone calls and I am telling everyone to get lost because this is tiresome and irritates me.I am going to pursue them (Hello) for misleading statements". Hello magazine had reported that the mayor had said Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would tie the knot last weekend, though they did not quote him directly. The couple announced their engagement in April but have not publically set a wedding date. Should they want to marry in France, they would reportedly have to tie the knot in the local town hall as a license for a civil ceremony in their home would prove difficult to acquire.
The high profile couple have been together since 2005 and are raising six children together. Earlier this week, Brad's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston announced that she is engaged to marry the Hollywood screenwriter Justin Theroux. She has previously been in relationships with Vince Vaughn and John Mayer and is often dubbed by the celebrity press to be "unlucky in love".
