Actor Christopher Showerman, who replaced Brendan Fraser as George Of The Jungle, has made his directorial debut with new film Radio America.
Showerman, who also appears in the film, will produce the project with Shorris Film partner Clint Morris, who tells Wenn the film is a "touching, music-fuelled drama in the vein of La Bamba, Once, and The Commitments".
The story follows two wannabe musicians, working on a farm, who find stardom when one of their songs becomes a radio hit.
Jacob Motsinger and Christopher Alice star in the film, alongside Terminator: Genisys actor Wayne Bastrup and J. Kristopher, who will soon be seen in the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.
Radio America will be released later this year (15).
