Britney Spears is holed up in a top Los Angeles hotel after she was forced to evacuate her southern California home due to raging wildfires.

The pop superstar's mansion in Calabasas was at risk from the brush-fuelled flames which have been spreading throughout the area and authorities put residents in her neighbourhood on standby to leave their properties last week (ends03May13) as they tried to contain the blaze.

She was still spotted in Calabasas on Friday (03May13), but it appears she's since decided to pack up and move with her two young sons.

A source tells the New York Post's Page Six column, "Britney and her children had to leave her house last week because of the fire scare. They are all safe and staying at the Four Seasons."

The Toxic hitmaker isn't the only celebrity whose home was endangered by the blaze - comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and her actress wife Portia De Rossi's farm in nearby Ventura County came close to being burned to the ground over the weekend (04-05May13), but firefighters managed to save the property from any damage. The couple expressed its gratitude by giving 16 firefighters a place to stay for the night.
