Britney Spears was presented with the Key to the City of Las Vegas' Strip yesterday (05.11.14).

The 'Piece of Me' hitmaker was honoured by Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak, who officially proclaimed the day to be 'Britney Day' and a host of other festivities took place in the city to mark the occasion.

A group of showgirls from Jubilee at Bally's Las Vegas performed a Britney-inspired routine to her hit 'Toxic' on the LINQ Promenade Fountain stage before stepping back and revealing the pop superstar with their iconic feathered fans at the end of the performance.

And the 32-year-old singer celebrated with hundreds of her namesakes as fans with any spelling variations of her name were invited to her show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - where she is almost a year into her concert residency - where they also received a special commemorative t-shirt, a complimentary ride on the High Roller and access to a special area to watch the concert.

The 'Womanizer' hitmaker also used the occasion to announce 36 extra performances of her Las Vegas show and reveal a partnership with Zappos and the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF), where $1 of every ticket purchased to her residency will be donated to the charity.

She said: ''I am so proud to join forces with the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation and support children and their families in need in my second home of Las Vegas, Nevada.''

Britney is the 11th person to receive the Keys to the City of the Strip, following in the footsteps of the likes of chefs Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay and the cast of 'Last Vegas'.
