The X Factor USA bosses will have to quickly get used to Britney Spears demands on the show, with the superstar singer seemingly taking a break in the middle of auditions during her first day on the judging panel.
TMZ.com have reported that show bosses were so anxious to land Britney as a judge that they "gave away the candy store by giving her the right to do things during production that are not normal". That apparently includes taking breaks whenever she wants. During her first taping on Thursday (May 24, 2012), Britney decided to take a time-out and left the studio for a considerable amount of time (four acts had auditioned before she returned). Sources connected to the production say she was "overwhelmed" and needed to leave - which sounds like bad news for the X Factor USA. Some commentators were critical of the decision to hire Spears', given her past history of unpredictable behavior. As for her demands, one source said, "Simon is a smart and shrewd businessman who knew Britney could make his show and he was willing to give her just about anything to come on board - and he did".
The singer is reportedly earning $15 million for just one season on the show, and is so far yet to agree to a second stint.
