Brittany Murphy's father is set to reveal all about the tragic star's stalker fears and what she wrote in her secret letters to him in a new book.
Angelo Bertolotti was always described as the actress' estranged father during her life, and his name was initially omitted from Murphy's death certificate - but he hopes his new tome, Britt, will right wrongs and help fans understand just how troubled his daughter was in the months leading up to her death in December, 2009.
Co-writer Julia Davis tells WENN, "There was a lot of drama and many secrets in Britt's life, not of her own doing. For example, there was a lot of animosity between her parents since Britt's childhood, but she wrote letters to her dad and often met him in secret.
"Her mother hated Britt's dad to the point where she publicly claimed that he was dead and later left his name off Britt's death certificate, which he eventually fought to correct and it was properly amended.
"Britt confided in her dad about being followed, wiretapped and terrorised, about being ridiculed when she reported it, about her marriage to Simon (Monjack), the enormous amount of money Britt had to pay to get him (Monjack) out of immigration detention, what happened to him while he was detained and why he was placed on a suicide watch."
And Davis insists the book will answer many other questions about the actress' death: "It will go into how she was blackballed by the industry because of vicious rumours that she was a drug addict and a party girl - even though she wasn't, why she was under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency, and why she had to sign a will at such a young age."
