Brooke Shields debuted a strange accessory at the Met Costume Institute Gala in New York this week. Decked out in her elegant J. Mendel gown with sleek clutch bag and Tiffany jewellery, the actress also walked with the aid of a cane.
E! News correspondent Giuliana Rancic caught up with the 46-year-old actress, with Shields revealing that she had torn her meniscus in her knee while performing as Morticia Addams in the Broadway show The Addams Family. Ever the pro, the actress explained that it was "not a big deal", adding, "it's inconvenient". She did however joke that the Met Museum's famous grand staircase "didn't help" her cause, before quipping, "You know what? We'll do anything for fashion!" The actress took over the role of Morticia in The Addams Family last June, and said at the time, "I am having the time of my life playing Morticia with this wonderful company of actors.Morticia is such a delicious role and The Addams Family is such a fantastic and iconic piece of entertainment that I just couldn't resist the invitation to extend".
Some of Shields' better known movies include 'Pretty Baby' and 'The Blue Lagoon', as well television appearances in 'Suddenly Susan', 'That 70s Show' and 'Lipstick Jungle'.
