CADDYSHACK star MICHAEL O'KEEFE has given Batman a new identity in his gripping debut novel.
The actor has just completed his first book and he's currently looking for a publishing deal.
In Mortal Coil, O' Keefe's protagonist, Max Coil, wakes up in a Hollywood mansion without any recollection of who or where he is - and his day just keeps getting stranger.
The Michael Clayton star reveals, "He has a housekeeper with espresso waiting for him, a chauffeur is in his driveway and he can't figure out why, and, instead of finding out whats wrong, he kind of plays along.
"When he arrives at work he finds out that hes a movie star and hes playing Batman."
O'Keefe admits he's perfectly suited to writing novels - and he hopes his first book is a success, so he can write more.
He tells WENN, "I thought it would make a great screenplay but Im somewhat of a recluse, so novel writing sort of suits me. If the story gets told and its optioned for a movie, Ill consider it, but I cant say I wrote it for that. It took me a couple of years to write it."
