One Direction have been turned into comic book characters.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers will appear in magazine 'Fame: One Direction' when it's released in shops and the book will follow their rise from the 'x factor' to pop stardom as they embark on their adventures around the globe.

The boyband - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles - have already been the stars of a cartoon called 'The Adventurous Adventures of One Direction' and they will now be turned into caricatures for the comic book which is predicted to be a hit with the band's loyal fans.

Music mogul Simon Cowell will also have a Cameo role in the book - which is being created by writer Michael Troy and illustrator Gustavo Rubio - and American company Bluewater Productions will publish it.

It will be part of the 'Fame' series of comic books which tells the story of stars including Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Justin Beiber.

The singers made music history when they topped the American charts with the release of their debut album 'Up All Night'

They recently revealed to excited fans the name of their new album - which will be called 'Take Me Home.'

Louis tweeted: 'So pleased to tell you that our new album is called ''take me home'' can't wait for you to hear it! More news soooon! #takemehome'
