Simon Cowell is launching a cooking show in America.

The music mogul is in preliminary talks with US network Fox - which airs the US edition of his show 'The X Factor' - to broadcast an American version of his upcoming culinary reality competition 'Food, Glorious, Food!', which aims to find the best home cooked meal with the winning dish being sold in a top supermarket.

A source told RadarOnline.com: ''Simon and Fox are in talks to bring his culinary show to the US in 2014, despite it having not even aired in the UK yet.

''They have full faith in Simon as a television impresario and believe his latest idea will be a resounding success.''

The show, which is said to be inspired by the reality TV judge's love of home cooked food such as pastries and shepherd's pie, will travel the country with contestants pitching unique dishes that could be stocked in stores.

The source added: ''It's a pretty easy formula to translate to US audiences. It's a little bit like 'Antiques Roadshow' meets 'Top Chef' and Simon believes it could really take off.''

The British version of the cooking show will feature the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla's food critic son Tom Parker Bowles, and former 'Masterchef' presenter Loyd Grossman.
