Candice Glover is being hotly tipped to win 'American Idol' tonight (16.05.13).

The soul singer is considered the favourite to take the crown in tonight's season 12 finale, beating fellow contestant Kree Harrison, to win a recording contract.

Candice, 23, wowed the show's judges - Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson - on last night's (15.05.13) final performance show, where the two remaining contestants performed three songs.

Candice gave a rousing rendition of Adele's 'Chasing Pavements' at the top of the show and later closed the show with an equally powerful performance of 'I Who Have Nothing', much to the judges' approval.

Randy said: ''It's about singing and, baby, you got it all!''

Legendary diva Mariah also piled on the compliments, adding: ''I know I'm going to be listening to you for years to come.''

Kree and Candice also sang what would be their first single if they win the show. While Kree performed a country song, Candice sang self-empowerment ballad 'I Am Beautiful'.

Meanwhile, tonight's finale will mark Randy Jackson's final night on 'American Idol'. The music producer and manager has been on the show since its first season but announced last week that he is set to depart.

The fate of the other three judges is also in doubt and it's rumoured producers are looking to overhaul the panel entirely.
