Carine Roitfeld's daughter has revealed her mother passed on some great fashion and beauty tips to her when she was growing up.
Carine Roitfeld passed on fashion tips to her daughter.
Stylish Carine - who has just announced her resignation from her role as French Vogue editor-in-chief - was an important influence on daughter Julia Restoin-Roitfeld when she was growing up according to the model and art director.
Julia revealed her mother told her: "Try not to over think it, because, if you do, it's not authentic. [Also] navy and black is one of the best combinations. And never to pluck my eyebrows which I did and now regret."
Julia - whose father is Christian Restoin, founder of fashion label Equipment - also revealed growing up in such a fashion heavy atmosphere made her wish to become a model, which came true thanks to family friend Tom Ford who once described her as "exactly what beauty is to me".
She told Style magazine: "When I was 16, seeing my mum surrounded by all these models, I secretly wanted to do it, but only because it would have been flattering for my ego. When I got to 20 I thought, 'Ok, I'm too old now.' Then Tom Ford called."
