Carly Rae Jepsen enjoyed directing Tom Hanks in her music video for 'I Really Like You' and insisted she wasn't intimidated about working alongside the star.
Carly Rae Jepsen relished the opportunity to direct Tom Hanks on set.
The 'I Really Like You' hitmaker says she wasn't intimidated about working with the Oscar winner, who appears in her music video for the song, and even helped him learn the lyrics.
She said: ''Tom was learning the lyrics, and there was one line he couldn't get. I timidly raised my hand and said, 'I know the words.' And for one brief, beautiful moment I found myself directing Tom Hanks.''
Carly previously revealed she wanted the 'Forrest Gump' star to be in her video so it wouldn't become too ''sickly sweet''.
She said: ''Look, I'm a cheesy, nerdy Broadway girl at heart. It's a very flirtatious, adorable song but ... we felt like if we had a sickly sweet video it would just overkill ... My favourite bit (video) is where we sent 'running guy emoji', 'tree emoji' and 'running guy emoji' to Tom Hanks. Run, Forest, Run!''
The singer regularly gets compared to a young Carly Simon and considers it ''a big compliment.''
She added to PEOPLE magazine: ''I've spoken with her a few times over the phone, and we might have a little surprise cooked up for later this year.''
