Unlike thousands of right-thinking music fans across the globe, Carly Rae Jepsen insists that she's not bored of 'Call Me Maybe' just yet. In an interview with Associated Press, she was asked whether or not she's growing weary of the global radio-bothering hit and replied "I'm waiting for that to happen, but at this point it's still such a crazy adventure that I'm on because of this song that I do feel like there's a new element to it every day."
Jepsen also revealed, somewhat surprisingly, that her influence for the song came from an Annie Lennox track: "We used the idea of being like a modern-day, Annie Lennox-type pop, like 'Walking on Broken Glass.' I want to do songs like that. So, we decided to add some different instruments like strings, things you don't normally hear in pop songs right now. And we weren't expecting that it was going to be like the game changing song. now we're all just kind of looking at each other like, 'What happened?'" You're not the only ones, Carly.
Whilst the singer recognizes that she's not quite reached the same levels of stardom as Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, she still gets "wigged out" by airport paparazzi "Tmz I think caught me and they're like, 'Carly Rae Jepsen carries her own suitcase,' and I'm like, 'Is that not allowed? Who is supposed to carry it? I'm new to this.'" Such humility, from the rising star.
