Carol Burnett is set to make her 'All My Children' return today (06.09.11).
The 78-year-old actress - who has made guest appearances in 'Glee' and 'Law And Order' - will reprise her role as Verla Grubbs, Langley Wallingford's (Louis Edmonds) long-lost daughter on the ABC soap opera.
The 'All My Children' fan - who hosted a 25th anniversary special about the show in 1995 and later appeared as her alter-ego in 2005's 35th anniversary programme - will make her comeback at a Pine Valley High School reunion.
Verla is set to serve as a love rival to Opal (Jill Larson) for Sam Brady (Jason Kincaid) and will face-off with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), who tries to defender her best friend.
Carol has previously admitted she realised a dream when 'All My Children' creator Agnes Nixon - who is also known for creating 'One Life to Live' - made the role of Verla for her.
