Cate Chooses Versatility Over Vanity
Australian screen beauty Cate Blanchett admits to being vain, but feels having a chameleon-like appearance is more important when it comes to acting.
Playing characters as diverse as QUEEN ELIZABETH I (young and old) and Katharine Hepburn means that Blanchett, 35, is prepared for whatever the make-up artist unleashes on her.
She says, "I'm just as vain as the next person, but it's really important to try and shed that vanity. I have to, because I have an actor's face and people keep wanting to tamper with it."
Not that it bothers Blanchett: "I like the fact I don't have a set look."14/02/2005 21:42
