On last night's episode of The Voice in the U.S., Cee-Lo Green and Adam Levine both had to pick one of their own team members to eliminate (April 23, 2012). The public vote, meanwhile, will be announced on tonight's show. The two contestants with the fewest votes will get the chance to give a last-chance performance and hope for immunity from their coaches. Last night's show also included live performances from Cee-Lo himself, who performed 'Dancing in the Street' with his team, and Adam played drums for his group of mentees, to perform a cover of John Lennon's 'Instant Karma.'

When it came to the all-important eliminations, Cee-Lo said a heartfelt goodbye to mechanic James Massone. James had performed a version of Billy Joel's 'Just the Way You Are.' The judges are becoming less and less forgiving as the weeks pass in the competition and Christina Aguilera couldn't hide her disappointment, telling James that she was hoping for "something different." Cee-Lo said that he enjoyed the performance but when it came to elimination time, he said "I gotta let my little brother James go." James thanked his mentor, saying "You helped me grow so much. I love you."

Meanwhile, Adam chose to eliminate Pip. The teenager had earlier tried to show off his falsetto, with a performance of 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane. His attempt to impress the judges fell flat and Adam had to confess that there were "a couple of moments that weren't perfect." When it came to elimination time, he said "Pip, I gotta let you go, man."
