Singer Celine Dion has cancelled a series of Las Vegas shows after falling sick with sinusitis.

The Canadian star was struck down with influenza last week (ends17Feb13), but she has now developed a more serious sinus infection, prompting her to axe this week's (beg18Feb13) Sin City concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Dion's doctors have ordered her to rest for a week and she hopes to resume her residency on 26 February (13).

A statement posted on the singer's website, reads, "We regret to inform you that Celine performances Tuesday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 22 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled.

"After recovering from the flu last week, Celine developed a secondary infection (sinusitis) which is being treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine. Her doctor has instructed her to rest for a period of 7 consecutive days in order for her to fully recover. Celine's previously scheduled dates Feb. 26 through Mar. 16 will proceed as scheduled."

Ticket-holders are being offered refunds.
