Music mogul Alan Meltzer has died at the age of 67.
The founder and former chairman of the Wind-up Entertainment label passed away over the weekend (29-30Oct11). The cause of his death is not yet known.
Meltzer and his wife Diana formed Wind-up Records in 1997 after purchasing indie label Grass Records and signed several top acts, including Creed and Evanescence. Meltzer left the company last year (10).
Wind-up Ceo and president Ed Vetri tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Alan was a creative force in the entertainment industry and will be missed. His passion for music and long term artist development was the capstone of the label and continues to drive us today."
