Charli XCX and Ne-Yo were both taken off air in Australia on Tuesday (03Mar15) after a dramatic fire scare prompted an evacuation at a radio station in Sydney.

The British singer was chatting to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O in a phone interview for Kiis 1065 when an alarm sounded at the station's North Ryde studios and firefighters began ushering employees from the building.

Sandilands was initially reluctant to cut the interview short, saying, "I wanna talk to Charli for a bit, is there anything you want to tell your fans before we go?" prompting the Fancy star to quip, "You mean before you perish?"

Sexy Love singer Ne-Yo was in the building conducting an interview for another radio station, The Edge 96.One, when the alarm sounded, and the star was among those who were evacuated.

Pictures show Ne-Yo standing on the street outside the studio complex along with the radio hosts who were interviewing him.

Two fire trucks and eight firefighters attended the scene before deeming the building safe for employees to return to work.
