R&B star Charlie Wilson invited country singer and superfan Scotty Mccreery onstage for an impromptu performance during a concert in North Carolina last week (ends22Feb15).

The former American Idol winner MCCreery attended his hero's concert in Raleigh last Wednesday night (18Feb15), and Wilson brought MCCreery on stage to sing one of his most popular songs, Charlie, Last Name Wilson.

In a video posted on YouTube.com, Wilson asks MCCreery, "If there was a girl right here, and she was right in front of you, you'd have to tell her your name, or my name or something. Would you just sing that?"

MCCreery, who has been vocal about his love for the former Gap Band frontman since he was a young boy, eagerly took the chance and replaced his own name in the hit song, singing, "Scotty, Last Name MCCreery."

Speaking to TasteOfCountry.com following the unexpected performance, MCCreery gushed, "That was a night I'll never forget. Charlie is an amazing performer and such a gentleman. I never expected to meet him, let alone be asked to join him on stage - that was a huge honour."
