Actress Charlize Theron met with South African President Jacob Zuma on Monday (29Jul13) to discuss his ongoing fight against Hiv and Aids.
The Monster star, who is a South African native, went public with her high-powered date and has urged young people to better educate themselves on how to stay healthy.
She says, "We are all here to support you. You are the future of this country and I am asking you to seize the opportunity to lead healthy and empowered lives...
"It's always very special for me to be able to come home and even more when I have a chance to lend my support to the youth of this country."
President Zuma welcomed the actress home and explained that they had a productive conversation: "We have had a very good discussion, which we believe is going to give us a big push. We have indeed made a big dent, a big success."
Theron was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace in 2008 and was speaking on behalf of UNAids, the joint United Nations programme on Hiv/Aids.
