Charlize Theron was a multi-tasking mother on the set of 'Mad Max: Fury Road'.

The 39-year-old actress was a new parent to her adopted son Jackson at the time of filming her role as Imperator Furiosa for the action movie and while shooting the film in the deserts of Namibia Charlize had to do night feeds, exercise and act which was ''tough''.

In an interview on TV show 'Lorraine', Charlize said: ''I was a new mum, Jackson was only about three months old when we landed. He wasn't sleeping through the night yet, so most of that shoot I still had to do feedings throughout the night, train, do the film. It was a tough shoot.''

The 'Monster' star worked alongside Nicholas Hoult and Tom Hardy - who plays the title role - in 'Mad Max', and she has praised the two British actors for their talent.

She said: ''Nicholas Hoult is going to be huge, but Tom is just stupidly talented, so it was really ... you had to stay on your toes (during filming).''

'Mad Max: Fury Road' is going to get its premiere at the Cannes Festival today (14.05.15), but the film has already been given rave reviews and is even being tipped for Oscar success, which the actress thinks is ''really beautiful''.

Charlize - who is engaged to Sean Penn - said: ''I think all of us are just really excited by how people are responding to it. There's obviously something there that we've tapped into, and that's why we spent a year of our life or more shooting the movie, and if other people feel the same, then there's something really beautiful in that.''
