Leslie Fremar has been named Hollywood's most powerful stylist.

The sartorial adviser - who has dressed Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson, among many other A-list stars - has overtaken Rachel Zoe and Kate Young as Hollywood's most powerful stylist, according to The Hollywood Reporter magazine.

She told the publication: '''I stick to my instincts, and if something gets me really excited when I see it initially, I know it's going to be a home run.''

Leslie was born in Toronto and got her first break as assistant first to Vogue editor Anna Wintour, then to the magazine's fashion director Tonne Goodman.

She added: ''It was around 2003 that Vogue started putting celebrities on the covers, and I was the assistant on those shoots.''

Her ascent continued with an appointment at Prada which led to her styling Salma Hayek at the Cannes Film Festival and helped pave the way for her red carpet styling career.

Petra Flannery claimed second spot, largely for her work with younger, up-and-coming stars such as Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana and Mila Kunis.

Zoe was in third place and although she slipped from the top spot two years ago, she is still one of the most powerful dressers in Hollywood, having dressed both Oscar winners Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence for last month's Oscars.
