Cher has insisted she's ''not dying''.

The 'Turn Back Time' hitmaker was forced to cancel dates on her 'Dressed to Kill' concert last September after being diagnosed with a potentially fatal mystery virus, but she has now revealed she's made a full recovery.

She said: ''I'm feeling great.

''I'm not dying!''

The 68-year-old musician sparked worries when she was spotted wearing a cardiac monitor back in October, and a source close to the star has admitted the illness was frightening as it affected her heart.

The source explained: ''She was really flattened by the infection -- it affected her kidney function and threatened her heart.

''For the first time in her life, she learned how to slow down and methodically build up strength.''

The chart-topping icon - who has sons Chaz, 46, and Elijah, 38 - is now so satisfied with her recovery, she intends to head back out on the road to make up for the fact she disappointed fans by pulling out of her last string of dates.

The source added to Closer Weekly magazine: ''She's happier and healthier than she has been in years, and she's dead-set on remounting 'Dressed to Kill'.''
