Retiring singing superstar Cher is looking for a new home in the English countryside.

The 57-year-old star recently revealed plans to end her FAREWELL TOUR this year (04) and quit performing live - and she's now searching for the perfect quiet rural retreat to spend her twilight years.

Cher, who once owned apartment in London by the RIVER THAMES, says, "I feel at home in England and I would love to have a home there again. I would like some land and some privacy."

If Cher does become the lady of her very own manor, she will join the likes of Madonna, Elizabeth Hurley and model CLAUDIA SCHIFFER - who have all found happiness in their own English country homes.
