Chris Brown has apologised for storming out of a New York TV studio after he was asked about attacking Rihanna.

The 21-year-old singer - who was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service for assaulting his then-girlfriend in February 2009 - said he was sorry for his actions which allegedly include smashing a dressing room window with a chair but claimed the questions took him by surprise.

He told Black Entertainment Television's '106 & Park': "First of all I want to apologise to anybody who was startled in the office, anybody who was offended or really looked disappointed at my actions because I was really disappointed in my actions.

"A lot of people don't know what went down. When I do shows or I do interviews we always send out a talking points sheet and if the network or whomever doing the interviewing isn't complying with what we want to do so we can equally accomplish a goal we usually back out until it's a better situation."

After the incident Chris took to his twitter account to write: "I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for there bulls**t. (sic)"

But he immediately removed the post and later added: "All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!! (sic)"
