Embattled R&B star Chris Brown has reached out to Cher via Twitter.com after a hacker lashed out at the pop superstar in a vile tweet from his account.
Cher fans made sure the Believe singer was aware of what Brown appeared to have posted when a nasty note addressed her thoughts on U.S. President Barack Obama.
The tweet read: "That damn granny b**ch Cher needs to keep her mouth shut!!! She needs a beating."
When one of Cher's dedicated fans asked her, "Cher, how do you feel about Chris Brown saying he was gonna hit you," Cher retweeted the query and added, "I don't know. Is that something he's particularly good at?"
After hearing about the fuss, Brown, who was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, tweeted Cher directly to make sure she understood the threat didn't come from him.
He wrote, "If this is your real Twitter I would like to say that some of ur (your) fans... are spreading false accusations... I have the utmost respect for u (sic) as an artist!... Just to clear this up!"
