Police are investigating the alleged theft of an iPhone by the R&B singer Chris Brown. The Press Association have released a report today (February 24, 2012) with details of the police incident report. The alleged incident happened outside a Florida nightclub.
According to the report, 24 year-old Christal Shanae Spann was with friends when she spotted Chrs Brown, along with the rapper Tyga leaving the Cameo nightclub in Florida, late on Sunday evening. As Brown got into a black Bentley, Cristal took a photo of him sitting in the car. Chris Brown then allegedly grabbed the girl's phone, saying "you ain't going to put that on no website" before driving off. No charges have been filed for the offence but the incident has been listed as 'robbery by sudden snatching,' which is a felony. The chief prosecutor for the Miami Beach area has told the press "My prosecutors are currently speaking with the witnesses and reviewing all of the materials supplied by Miami Beach police. Only after these reviews have been completed would any type of action be considered or taken." Chris Brown's attorney had not responded to requests for comment at the time of the report.
Any charge for this incident could potentially cause problems for Chris Brown. The singer is currently on probation for assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. The pair appear to have reconciled their differences and recently collaborated on remixes of each other's tracks. Domestic violence experts recently warned Rihanna that Chris Brown does not appear to have "changed much" since the assault three years ago.
