Blockbuster Action Movie Avengers: Age Of Ultron Is Continuing Its Runaway Box Office Success By Topping The U.k. Chart For A Second Week.
The superhero sequel, starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson, set a 2015 record high for opening ticket sales in Britain last month (Apr15), and it smashed the competition again over the weekend (01-03May15) by taking $13.7 million (£8.6 million).
Its nearest rival, newly-released period drama Far from the Madding Crowd, took just $2.2 million (£1.4 million), and creepy thriller Unfriended earned $2 million (£1.3 million).
The top five was rounded out by Furious 7, with $1.7 million (£1.1 million) in box office receipts, and Home, with $1.1 million (£732,000).
