'Thor' actor Chris Hemsworth is wanted by Universal to take on the leading male part in 'Snow White and the Huntsman' opposite Kristen Stewart.
Chris Hemsworth is favourite to take a leading role in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.
The role was originally intended to be played by an older star - with both Hugh Jackman and Viggo Mortensen in the frame for the part - and it is thought the cast of 27-year-old Chris could lead to a change in The Script into more of a romantic role.
Charlize Theron is signed up to play the evil queen, who orders the hunter to kill Snow White before he turns on her and aides the beauty to escape.
The film - being directed by Rupert Sanders - is expected to start production in autumn, ahead of a December 2012 release date.
