Liam Hemsworth's family are reportedly ''thrilled'' about his split from Miley Cyrus.

The 'Hunger Games' star's parents, Leonie and Craig, and his older brothers Chris and Luke, who staged an intervention in a bid to get him to end his relationship in April, have been supporting him since the 23-year-old heartthrob confirmed he and the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker had ended their engagement last month.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: ''This is the happiest they've seen Liam in a long time and they are supporting the break up.''

The source said his family is ''thrilled'' that he has completely cut ties with his 20-year-old ex-fiancee.

Another insider previously revealed that Liam's family held a meeting to try to get him to break-up with Miley in April.

The source said at the time: ''They want him to end the romance for good.''

Meanwhile, the Australian star, who was photographed kissing Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez just one day after his split from Miley, was reportedly spotted partying up a storm in New York City hotspot Ainsworth Park on Sunday night (29.09.13).

An eyewitness said: ''Liam was flirting with two girls the entire time. He was having a great time, laughing and drinking. He looked happier than ever and it's clear he's totally loving being single.''
