After a controversial appearance in 2005, Chris Rock has been invited back to the Oscars, to present an award. The comedian sparked outrage seven years ago, when he insulted actors such as Jude Law and Tobey Maguire. When Sean Penn took to the stage to present an award, following Rock's monologue, he chastised Rock for his remarks and it has taken several years for the Academy to invite Rock back to feature as part of the ceremonial presentations.

The comedian began his monologue by saying "remember when you were a kid and every movie was incredible? .Then you grow up and you watch some of those same movies and you're like, Rocky V sucks!" Stars such as Morgan Freeman can be seen laughing along to his skit. But his comments that some Hollywood stars are undeserving of their status were not so well received. "Clint Eastwood is a star. Tobey Maguire's just a boy in tights" was one of his comments and he also dissed Jude Law by saying "Who is Jude Law? Why was he in every movie I've seen for the last four years?"

It would appear the dust has finally settled, though and Chris Rock will make an appearance at the Oscars on February 26, 2012, along with Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hanks and Angelina Jolie, amongst others. Chris Rock's documentary film Credit is the Devil is expected to be released in the USA this year.
