Beyonce is wanted to star in Bradley Cooper's directorial debut.

The 40-year-old actor is set to step behind the camera on the remake of 'A Star Is Born' and Warner Bros. - the studio responsible for the film - intends to approach the 'Drunk In Love' singer about a starring role in the eagerly-awaited project.

The 33-year-old entertainer was wanted to star in a Clint Eastwood-directed remake of the movie in 2011, but her schedule didn't allow for it to happen.

And although she's still to be officially approached for the film, Deadline reports that the studio is determined to secure her services.

Meanwhile, director Adam McKay revealed recently that Beyonce could also be set to star in 'The Big Short'.

She is rumoured to have joined the star-studded cast - along with Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Oscar nominee Steve Carell - for the film adaptation of Michael Lewis' book of the same name about the credit bubble.

Speaking about the film, McKay reflected: ''An incredible cast... Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell... And I think Beyonce.''

Beyonce last appeared on the big screen in 2009 when she starred in 'Obsessed'.
